Closure of the north end zone of Davis Wade Stadium at Mississippi State University provided an excellent opportunity for Clyde Pritchard and much of the Pritchard Engineering staff to exhibit excellence at their Alma Mata. The desire for expanded seating and enhanced amenities constructed within a confined space coupled with the need for phased completion to accommodate uninterrupted play at Scott Field presented many challenges. As a consultant for Mississippi State University and the design team of LPK Architects, 360 Architecture, and Walter P. Moore and Associates, Pritchard Engineering provided:
-Surveying and topographic mapping
-Subsurface exploration and geotechnical recommendations
-Civil site design
-Construction phase quality assurance testing of earthwork and concrete as well as required IBC special inspections
At a cost of 65 million dollars, the facility was completed on schedule for the 100th anniversary of Scott Field and provides an incomparable game day experience.
